about me

I stumbled into a yoga class after running the “Worlds Best 10K” in 2003 and I fell in love with it.  In late 2003 I completed the 200hr Yoga Alliance® teacher training certification at Samadhi Yoga Institute, in Santurce, Puerto Rico.  Shortly after in 2005 I completed a yoga for kids program – Semillas de Luz.

Nowadays, I teach and practice, Prana Flow, a style created by my teacher Shiva Rea. I have completed 400+ contact hours in order to complete my 500hr Yoga Alliance® teacher training certification and I am assisting Shiva this year!  I am currently focused on teaching outside a yoga environment to make yoga available to others that may not be exposed to it otherwise.  My classes are inspired by my various passions but my purpose is to inspire change in others, inspire awakening! YOGA is my tool.

In my classes I incorporate my knowledge in Hemisphericity and Neurolinguistics which I have studied quite extensively, including Mastery University with Anthony Robbins.  I have also completed my Doula training with Mujeres Ayudando Mujeres (MAM) in May 2010, hoping to better support expecting moms in this magical and creative journey.

I have many passions and I live to share each one of them. I love animals and the planet and I am an active member of PETA and Sierra Club. I also lead a group of business women, called Connected Women, which focuses on developing our communities young talent.  Rayo de Luna is my biggest passion, coming soon! And I just completed my first Sprint Triathlon.

I was born and raised in sunny Puerto Rico, hold a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. I currently work with Cisco Systems as a Sales Business Development Manager for Virtualization and Collaboration Technologies. Which makes it very easy for me to understand and connect to today’s hectic and fragmented lifestyle, and at the same time I truly live the benefits of yoga!
